How to set a root redirect

Learn how to set a root redirect so yourdomain.com points to a specific link or page. Configure it from Settings under your domain or directly from the Links page.

Updated over 4 months ago

A root redirect allows you to decide what happens when someone visits your domain without a slug. For example, instead of showing a blank page at yourdomain.com, you can redirect it to a specific link or landing page.

Where to set it up

  1. From the Settings page

    • Click on the domain you want to configure

    • Press Configure main redirection

    • Choose the link or landing page that will be used as the root redirect

  2. From the Links page: getmysocial.com/dashboard/links

    • When you select Add domain directly on a link, the system will create a platform domain with that link as the root redirect

Important notes

  • Once configured, anyone visiting yourdomain.com will be redirected to the link or page you selected

  • This does not affect normal usage of slugs. For example, yourdomain.com/username will still work normally
